Taming the Bicycle, by Mark Twain

"The bicycle notices a rise where your untrained eye would not observe that one existed".
Accidentally ran across this article. Please Google and read it. Hilariously
Funny. Cyclists will appreciate.
Made it to Eureka,MT today, 72 miles. I think that I am getting stronger.
Rode the shores of Lake Koocanusa. The lake is over 100 miles in length. BTW, pm rain-AGAIN!
Day 13. Am so lucky to be taking this little stroll.

Day 12, rest day! Yaaaaay!

Am in Libby, MT. It is a great little town. It is like so many other places I have been through. The outdoor sports and activities are so good.
Met a couple from Maine and we hang together every few days.
In the photo, the big eagle is coming for me.
Will be riding by 5am. Daylight comes early in the Tundra. Good night John Boy. Temps to be about 100 degrees for four days.

Day 11, been followings rivers for a week.

Everyone knows about Motel 6. Last night I stayed in Motel 2 1/2. It was a campground cottage with about 90 square feet. Was only available choice, and was getting dark-so! Reminded me of Boy Scout Camp Bert Adams, bunk bed and all.
The Kootenai River was beautiful.

Day 10, BTW did I tell you that it rained

I made it all the way across the  skinny part of Idaho today-82 miles. Not sure why I did not just go ahead and do a Century. Yeah, right! The scenery is great. I have followed the Pend Oreille River over one hundred miles.
The storm came across the lake caught up with me.

Have a special photo that Stone Mountain Mike will appreciate.
Got to my destination just as the rain began-51 miles.

Day 8

It rained AGAIN overnight. I did not want to get wet again so I waited. I departed under cloudy skies about noon. As luck would have it, the rain started 15 miles into the ride. I found a restaurant in the middle of nowhere and got a burger and coffee-the Beaver Lodge. I don't know why I stopped there! Duh?
It really was a beautiful spot.

I have proof

The rides were awesome.

New friend

I met a young man, 17, on the Loup Loup ride yesterday, on the road alone, from Michigan. He is raising money for the Wounded Warrior Project. Today we tackled Wauconda Pass, another 2700 foot climb. He was very mAture for 17.

Loup Loup Pass

I made this ride of about 2,500 ft. Vertical. Was not to bad. Weather was much  dryer and warmer. Everything was wet when I got to Winthrop. Checked into first hotel, price did not matter.

More rain. I tried anyway

I had no food. It had rained for 3 days. I was on the windward side of the Cascades the rain is trapped there. I started in the rain and made it about 15 miles. Had to bail and hitch a ride. I was getting hypothermic. Cold wet shaking. Oh well! It was snowing at the top of Washington Pass.

Stayed in my canvas home most of the day. It rained night before last, last night and all day today.

Day 2, waterfalls and vistas

On my way to Colonial Creek Park. The climbs are amazing. That is the goal in the distance. Should have packed my skis.

Day 1,Anacortes,WA

Here we go wheeee!  Anacortes is a quaint fishing village, turned retirement community.

This is a test post

Those of us who are technologically challenged need little activities like this to insure it works. Thanks.
